Three-Toed Serving Bowl

STARS and BARS

THOUSAND LINES

This pattern was manufactured in the USA by the Anchor Hocking Glass Company. It was made from a mold with no maker\'s mark or logo from 1924 through 1965. Technically, these pieces can be described as \"Depression Era\" and \"Mid-Century\" glassware. Some incorrectly identify this as \"Early American Prescut\" (EAPC) or \"Early American Pattern Glass\" (EAPG). I don\'t know the exact year of production for this particular piece. This popular vintage pattern has been retired (discontinued) and is 45 to 89 years old. It has become very collectible and increasingly hard to find!

The pattern was named \"Stars and Bars.\" But, it is also known as the \"Thousand Line\" pattern because the line/model number for these pieces was designated 1000.

This exceptionally showy high-quality pressed-glass piece has a very striking geometric design in the timeless Art Deco style. The pattern is pressed into the outside of the thick and heavy clear glass leaving the inside perfectly smooth for easy cleaning.

This piece embellishes the pattern found in the other Stars and Bars pieces. It sits on three rounded toes (or feet). The center has a twelve-point star surrounded by a six-point star. These points are separated by fans. Deeply-cut straight miters (grooves) form triangles that sort of look like stylized stars. The triangles increase in size as they move up the side of the bowl. Clusters of these triangles are separated by deeply-cut curved miters that join together forming arches. The arches (or half ovals) have horizontal ribs. The arches are separated by fans along the outside of the bowl. The lip of the bowl is slightly scalloped (or rippled) and flares outward.

The look and feel of fine cut crystal without the cost!

Anchor Hocking named this color \"Crystal.\" And, you might be fooled by its heavy weight. But, it\'s NOT lead crystal (as some sellers imply)! It’s just beautifully clear glass. Nevertheless, it has the appearance of expensive hand-crafted glassware that\'s remarkably stunning and durable.

With all the facets, it sparkles like diamonds. This piece will reflect candlelight marvelously on your table and make a great addition to your collection! If you need additional matching pieces, ask me to check my inventory for items I haven\'t listed yet.

9 1/4 inches wide
3 1/4 inches tall (including toes)
2 inches deep

If you want a VINTAGE or RETRO look, this is it!

This three-toed serving bowl is in very good used condition. There are NO flakes, chips, nicks, flea bites, cracks, stains, cloudiness, or repairs! There is slight, but appropriate, age-related scratching and/or pattern wear. (Light scratches should be expected in old glass – such as utensil marks on dishes and scuffing on the base from being moved around on a surface.) This piece will arrive at your home clean as a whistle and ready to use right out of the box!

The calculated shipping cost includes insurance and tracking.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck offerding!

I\'ll try to combine shipping when I can. But, I can\'t always guarantee that.

I ship within the continental United States only.

I have embedded \'s shipping calculator into this listing. Before one of my listings becomes active, I pack the piece(s) so that the package is ready to be mailed out immediately upon purchase. I input the package dimensions and weight in the calculator so that you can find the exact postage to your zipcode, including insurance and tracking (which are NOT optional).I can\'t safely send the package to you for any less than the price the calculator gives you.

You MUST determine the shipping charges before making a offer. You can\'t cancel a offer or purchase by claiming \"Oh! I didn\'t realize how much the shipping would cost.\" That information is readily available by using the shipping calculator.

I carefully bubble wrap your piece(s) and double box when necessary. Glassware is very heavy and requires extra care to ensure that it gets to you intact. If I don\'t pack properly, the USPS won\'t honor the insurance that I\'ve purchased. As my response shows, you can be assured that (at least at my end) the greatest of care is given to your piece(s).

If there is damage during transit, you\'ll have to e-mail me pictures showing the damaged box, the packing materials I used, and the broken contents. Or, you can take all of that to your nearest post office so they can confirm that adequate protection was used. One or the other of those steps must be taken for you to get a refund. After I receive your pictures or the post office reports the damage to me, I\'ll process an immediate and full refund to you. You won\'t have to wait for me to be reimbursed by the USPS.

My seller status requires that I ship all packages within one (1) business day (excluding holidays and weekends) after your payment clears. can keep track of that based on when I print your specific shipping label. Therefore, you MUST inform me that you\'ll be making other purchases within the following 24 hours so that I\'m aware that you\'d like me to combine shipping, if possible. Otherwise, your first purchase could be mailed out as quickly as a few hours after you pay for it. Once it\'s out of my hands, I can\'t give you any discount for combined shipping.

I reuse boxes and packing materials whenever I can to keep overhead low and save the planet. The boxes may not be pretty, but they\'ll be sturdy. They\'ll have \"Fragile\" and \"Glass\" marked on every surface.

You have a choice between two delivery methods.

If you choose USPS Parcel Select (the least expensive non-media service), your package will be shipped within one (1) business day (excluding holidays and weekends) after your payment clears. You can expect your package to arrive two (2) to nine (9) business days later.

If you want your pieces(s) faster, choose USPS Priority Mail (at a premium charge). Your package will be shipped within one (1) business day (excluding holidays and weekends) after your payment clears. You can expect your package to arrive two (2) to three (3) business days later.

I try to present as much honest and accurate information as I can. But, I\'m not an expert on anything. I\'ve provided many photos and a detailed description of the exact piece(s) being saleed to help you make an informed decision. I make it a point to sell only those pieces that are in very good or better condition (new or used). I want you to be pleasantly surprised when you receive your piece(s) and find that the quality may be better than the rating I gave in my listing.

Many glassware patterns have been produced with no maker\'s mark or logo to go by. Some very popular patterns were closely copied by other manufacturers. Some patterns were made by more than one company because the molds were sold off. Sometimes, it\'s difficult to know which company made the piece and when. If you can provide the correct information, I\'m more than happy to hear from you.

Some manufacturers produced better quality pieces than their lookalikes. A prime example is Fostoria\'s \"American\" pattern. Indiana produced a lookalike that they named \"American Whitehall.\" Fostoria\'s product is heavier, thicker, and considered a better quality piece. It carries a higher book value/price too! If I can\'t be sure who made an item, I\'ll always sell it as the less expensive lookalike. I try to point this out when I\'m aware. Sometimes, I may get the manufacturer or year(s) of production wrong. If you can help me correct a mistake, I welcome it!

New collectors may not know that many old lines of glassware (especially those from soap or cereal giveaways during the depression years) came from the factory with noticeable seams, uneven rims, lumps, straw marks, or bubbles in the glass. I don\'t generally note those details in my listings because they\'re so common and in no way diminish the attractiveness of the piece(s). They were fashioned after, but not intended to be, fine glassware. Many of those patterns have become very collectible. Most of my pieces fall into this category. Many manufacturers used \"Crystal\" as the name for their clear glass pieces. I\'ll readily point out that my piece is NOT real leaded crystal, if this is the case. Some sellers leave you to imagine what you will by using the word \"Crystal\" to describe their pieces.

I\'ve already cleaned the pressed-glass or actual leaded crystal piece(s) so that I can identify flaws such as cracks, chips, stains, cloudiness, and/or repairs. The piece(s) will arrive at your home sparkling! I even run my fingernails around rims and bases looking for flea bites (which are very hard or impossible to see). There is usually some slight, but appropriate, age-related scratching and/or pattern wear. Light scratches should be expected in old glass - such as utensil marks on dishes and scuffing on the base from being moved around on a surface.

When some of my pictures are enlarged, the image gets a little fuzzy and it appears that there are cracks or other flaws. That\'s an optical illusion. If there\'s a problem, I tell you about it and provide a closeup picture. You can decide for yourself whether or not you\'re willing to accept the flaw. But, I don\'t always catch everything.

If you find a defect that I missed or the item is not as described, I\'ll be happy to take it back at my own shipping expense. Please look at all of the pictures, as well as the color and measurement(s) specified in this listing.ULTIMATELY, if you\'re not COMPLETELY HAPPY with your purchase, for any reason, you may return it. I\'m trying to earn your 100% satisfaction.

NO sale is final!

Just contact me and I\'ll do my very best to resolve any issues and get your five star rating! Authorization for returns MUST be made within two (2) weeks of receiving the item.

\"Us\" is just me. I\'m a guy who loves stopping at every yard sale, flea market, and thrift store that I come across. My pricing reflects the low prices that I pay for the piece(s) I\'m selling. Hopefully, you\'ll agree and add me to your favorite sellers list. I care about my seller reputation. So, you won\'t get any BS from me!

I love learning more about the items I sell. I welcome any input (from sellers or buyers) that I can use to make my listings more informative and/or factual.
