VINTAGE ‘CHESHIRECAT’ BRASS DOOR KNOCKER

This is an unusual vintage brass doorknocker in the form of a winking and smiling CAT (The Cheshire Cat from Alicein Wonderland). Below the cat the bottomof the knocker is in the form of a segment of brick wall with ivy growingacross it. The cat is holding a bow, and his arms form the striker. There are three screw holes for fixing to thedoor. The knocker is in good vintage condition.

This is an unusual and highly collectable vintage knocker. It could beused on any door in the house as a courtesy knocker, but it is also weightyenough to be used on an outside door.
