Piecing is machine sewn, quilting is hand sewn, back side & binding is dark blue feedsack cloth, bow ties are all done in a pretty rose pink cotton without pattern I LOVE the border fabric color scheme and pattern of stags and flowers- it looks like there is some Persian influence to the design. The other patterned fabrics are a mixture of florals and geometrics- a cute material with florals and buildings and another with florals and figures wearing turbans. It\'s a medium weight quilt, fairly thick. There are some wear holes along one edge in the border fabric, some stains, some fabric worn through on the seams and a few seams that need to be repaired. We didn\'t wash it and it smells a little dusty- nothing bad, just like it\'s been shut up in a chest or closet for a long time.
