DESCRIPTION
You are offerding on an original Series II Eames Lounge chair and Ottoman from the early 1960s made by Herman Miller.This piece is made from the rare Brazilian rosewood with *superb* grain. Series II is known for its superior, thicker Rosewood molded shells and the handmade workmanship is evident. With custom aniline leather in camel finish, the chair is a highly collectible piece and versatile to any setting. This set had one owner before it came to me. Chair cushions are 100% down filled. There is no sun damage to the panels, no repairs to this beauty.
Condition notes: The leather is very soft and supple with agreat vintage patina, and is worn-in throughout its life. There are some dry spots on the seat cushion. At some point the owner must\'ve replaced the ottoman cushion, as it is foam filled and the color is slightly different to the 100% down-filled chair cushions. There is a tear on the ottoman cushion. The arm rests have aged well with some cracking to one arm rest giving it a nice vintage look. There is a small thumbnail sized chip to the veneer on the shell and some paint marks on the shells. These paint splats may come off with a thumb nail, razor, or credit card edge -- I have not tried to clean them, oil the chair, or recondition it,choosing to leave it in its original condition. Aluminum bases are in good shape, the feet move nicely and aluminum still gives off nice shine.One of the upper spacers was missing when I received it the set. I purchased a new one, but did not glue it, leaving it to its new owner to finish the job. To the best of my knowledge, everything else is original. Please see photos!
