Item Specifications:up for sale used vintage menorah from the 1950\'s by\"WAINBERG\"of Jerusalem, Israel and signed\"Wainberg\"on the bottom of the base and\"Jerusalem\"on top. Made out of solid brass and features hand carved detail along with enameled painted jewels on the crown and the doors (two doors are missing). It has a beautiful intricate detailed, below the candle holders is inscribed in Hebrew\"Hanerot halalu kodesh hem\"(these candles are sacred), center of the menorahshowing crown and the Ten Commandments held by the Lion of Judea and backside is the Holy Western Wall.
The History:The chant,\"Hanerot Halalu\", is of very ancient origin and is mentioned with slight variations in the Talmudic \"minor tractate\" in Soferim 20:6. The recital of this prayer, like the kindling of the lights itself, serves both \"to make the miracle known\", and as a reminder that\"these lights are sacred throughout the eight days of Chanukah, and we are not permitted to make ordinary use of them but only to look at them.\"
