Absolutely stunning and extremely rare vintage pure knitted yarn cardigan/jacket, in a divine blend of purples, blues & browns ~ hand knitted piece ~ a very rare to find, much sought after and very beautiful cardigan/jacket bythe highly respected & very sought after textile designer and artist, Kaffe Fassett.
In a delightful hand knitted blend of thick natural wool yarns & chenille yarn in a gorgeously sexy over sized shape & fit which suits ALL body shapes and sizes (and will fit a variety of sizes BEAUTIFULLY) ~ with rounded neckline, softly staggered shoulders, gorgeous shape, fabulous batwing style sleeves, a row of deep purple buttons down the centre for fastening & a gorgeous huge floral & cloud pattern across the back in pink & blue chenille yarn. Full of bohemian delight and just so gorgeous, wearable art, just looking and feeling it, with its beautiful and rich jewel blend of purples, blues & browns you are transported to the Scottish highlands, or somewhere else equally earthy and evocative, looking out over the stunning plains of heather...Ideal for all seasons, day or night, town or country...can be worn over an evening dress for a bohemian vibe a la Kate Moss & Sienna Miller or Alexa Chung...or casually with jeans and boots a la off duty supermodels...very versatile...and GORGEOUS!!!

HISTORY:KAFFE FASSETT ~ WEARABLE ART
Born in San Francisco, Kaffe Fassett studied painting at theMuseum of Fine Art in Boston. In 1964, after only three months at art school,Fassett moved to London to paint.
After settling in London, Fassett became increasinglyinterested in the world of fashion and worked closely with Scottish fashion designerBill Gibb, with Fassett creating many of the multi-coloured, complex knitweardesigns that became one of Gibb’s trademarks.
It was on a trip to a Scottish wool mill thatFassett became inspired by yarn as an art medium. Inspired by the colours inthe landscape he was thrilled to find the same colours in yarns and so he boughta variety of colours of the Shetland wool and some knitting needles, and ~ as thelegend goes ~ was taught to knit by a fellow passenger on the train home toLondon.
Fassett embarked on his first pieces of knitting, with hisfirst design appearing as a full page spread in Vogue knitting magazine. Whilstcontinuing to work with Bill Gibb, Fassett found himself in demand, and was commissionedto produce designs for luxury brand Missoni...additionally, Fassett was gatheringa loyal band of collectors from Lauren Bacall, to Barbara Streisand and ShirleyMaclaine to name but a few.
In 1988, Fassett became the first living textile artist tohave a one man show at the Victorian & Albert Museum. The exhibition attracted huge crowdsand the show proved so popular that it was subsequently converted into an internationaltravelling show.
Kaffe Fassett\'s pieces are now so rare to find and very sought after and it\'s not hard to see why ~ they are utterly and totally divine!!! Wearable Art!!!
