BOLD STATEMENT RING! You are viewing a VINTAGE LARGE BENNY TOUCHINE NAVAJO STERLING SILVER RED CORAL CLUSTER CABOCHON RING. Size 8.5. Please view all the photos as they let you know what you will receive and are the primary and integral part of the description. Though this ring is unsigned, I believe this ring was made by Navajo silversmith Benny Touchine of New Mexico, USA. The seven (7) sawtooth-set polished deep-red coral gemstones presented on this large oval-shaped ring are about .16 inches (.4 cm) across and .24 inches (.6 cm) high. This ring measures .83 inches (2.1 cm) across (longest point); and 1.38 inches (3.5 cm) high. There is no hallmark on this ring, but guaranteed to be 925 sterling silver. The ring weighs about 10 grams.

Unsigned pieces were common with very old Native American pieces. Originally, the pieces were not made for sale (thus, no identifying marks were necessary), but were made as family heirlooms to be enjoyed within family and community. Due to financial reasons, many pieces were presented to pawn shops in exchange for funds, especially for daily life necessities. Unable to repay, many pieces had to be forfeited and eventually put up for sale.

This piece is attributed to the late Navajo silversmith, Benny Touchine. Because the piece is not signed, I can not confirm this, but to the connoisseur of Native American jewelry, this ring exemplifies his quality and uniquity in craftmanship. Mr. Touchine passed away in 2013 at the age of 80. Please take the time to see samples of his fine jewelry shown on the internet using any search engine. The quality of his work is outstanding as you can well see on this ring. Own a piece of history!
