VINTAGE NAVAJO BOLO TIE - COPPER PENNY APPLIQUE - MESA VERDE TOURIST PIECE:
$55.00

Item Description:

This is a delightful Navajo tourist piece. It looks like it was made from an old tag of some kind that had the number 107. At the center there is what looks like an old copper penny that has been crafted into the shape of an olla pot. It looks like it might have incorporated part of the penny\'s original design. The bolo measures 1 3/8 inches tall and 1 inch wide. There are 1 3/4 inch long silver tips at the ends of the braided black leather ties. This piece is in great vintage condition.Mesa Verde, Spanish for green table, offers a spectacular look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made it their home for over 700 years, from A.D. 600 to 1300. Today the park protects nearly 5,000 known archeological sites, including 600 cliff dwellings. These sites are some of the most notable and best preserved in the United States.
