From a Tucson Country Club estate some years ago is this vintage S.J. Dupont gold plated Ligne 1 lighter with attractive diagonal ribbed design, a well referenced authentic version from the esteemed atelier crafted in France. The lighter shows \"S.J. Dupont / PARIS / MADE IN FRANCE\" to the bottom, as well as the tiny winged wheel with \"LA DUPONT\" in an incuse square to the bottom; there is further \"7828 AE\" and \"UT 1254\". These lighters are not an area of expertise for me, but I guarantee it is a genuine S.J. Dupont lighter; use the pics for verification and feel free to ask any questions. Condition is quite good though not absolutely perfect, with definite signs of period use but no real abuse. There is typical and expected and in this case just minor wear to the gold plating. Some usual surface scratches and evidence of pocket wear to the finish from carrying about is exactly as expected for a serving example. Everything appears to be present and accounted and physically work as proper, though be aware I have not personally tested with butane. It could probably use a servicing, and also a new flint (there is still one in the flint receptacle, which is red in color) . The spring loaded cap hinge is good to go. There is no box. All that said, a look at those pics should give a good idea of appearance and condition. Size is about 2 9/16 in. (a smidge over 2 3/8 in.) vertical closed; about 1 3/8 in. horizontal and 9/16 in. thick. If you prefer these Mid Century genuine S.T. Dupont French made necessities over current mall dross, or simply wish this single improvement to the ambiance of each day, this will have great interest for you.
