Vintage (late 1950s/early 1960s) Karl Griesbaum singing bird box in outstanding condition. This is a genuine and 100% original Karl Griesbaum that is priced less than many modern reproductions.

Beautifully colored bird with a red body that is accented with iridescent green feathers, tiny splashes of iridescent red and black wing tips. This was called a Model 18 which features a highly intricate top case design paired with a very clean main case body design that works very well cosmetically. Overall, this 60 year old singing bird box is in excellent cosmetic and perfect mechanical condition. Comes with a Karl Griesbaum, bird shaped winding key.

I fully serviced (cleaned, adjusted, lubricated)the mechanical movement so this singing bird box operates perfectly.

Buyer\'s note: notice the tiny wire braided legs on the bird -allKarl Griesbaum singing bird box birds have wire braided feet. If the bird does not have these feet, the original bird has been replaced and possibly the mechanism as well . More than 75% of the Karl Griesbaum singing bird boxes offered for sale do not have the original bird or original mechanical movement and unfortunately, not all sellers disclose this fact to potential buyers.

The bird animates perfectly as follows: wings flap up/down, beak opens/closes, tail flutters up/down, bird turns left/right all the while singing to a beautiful oscillating bird song that is synchronized to the bird animation.
