Presented for sale is this superb Vintage Solid Silver Capstan Inkwell, hallmarked for Birmingham 1925 byDeakin & Francis Ltd.

This superb vintage solid silver inkwell is capstan shaped with a hinged lid, the circular base is filled to give it weight, insidethere is no glass well present but it is finished in gold giltas is the inside of the lid. It is fully hallmarked to theback below thehingewith the makers mark D&F, the Birmingham assay office Anchor, the Lion Passant denoting solid sterling silver and the date letterA for 1925, the inside of the lid is also hallmarked with the Lion Passant and date letter A, please see all the additional photos.

Measuring2" high by4" in diameter across the base approx. it is in excellent used condition with three small light crease indents to the lid and one tiny indent around the bottom edge nothing serious, there are no other dents, dings, splits or repairs and weighs all in 197grams by my postal scales.
