VINTAGE SPINNER TOKEN - CHICAGO EDGEWATER BEACH HOTEL YACHT CLUB - GILT - 1950s?:

This vintage spinner token most likely was issued in the 1940s or early 1950s to advertise the Edgewater Beach Hotel and its very distinctive cocktail lounge, the Edgewater Beach Yacht Club (decorated to resemble the deck of a yacht). As a \'spinner token,\' this item has a \'bump\' for spinning on one side and an arrow and the words YOU PAYon the other side. The side with the \'bump\' has the name of the club and hotel, with the street address in Chicago. The hotel and club closed in the 1960s, leading to the dates for this token (1940s-1950s) provided above. There is no mark for manufacturer or metal content; however, this item appears to be composed of brass with a bright gilt surface treatment (most of which remains). This tokenmeasures approximately 32 mm (1-1/4\") in diameter.

This item is in very good condition, with fairly light wear, signs of handling, and some toning.
