AUTHENTIC VINTAGE NAVAJO STERLING SILVER \"TAHE\" STYLE CUFF BRACELETNAVAJO ARTIST - UNKNOWNThis is a very typical style of the Tahe family. In actuality there are probably 5 or 6 individual Tahe families that make various styles of cuff bracelets. If I had to guess on an artist, I would say it would be Verna Tahe. This is only because I know her and her style of work. She would have started making jewelry in the late 60\'s to early 70\'s. I am not sure if any Tahe before her made this style...I will have to ask her one day.This particular bracelet is done using both polished Sterling wire and what I call \"twist\" wire. They have used 2 of each style and have molded them perfectly into this beautiful bracelet. The use heat to make the Sterling as pliable as possible, but it still takes some force and skill to twist these up to this type of perfection. The ends are soldered to smooth them out.The inner circumference is approximately 5 1/8\" end to end with an opening of 1 1/8\". The diameter of this bracelet is approximately 5mm. This bracelet weighs 34.7 grams.Our local jeweler has confirmed that this piece is Sterling Silver. This was necessary as there are no hallmarks or silver marks on this piece. (please see photos)
