For sale is a Zodiac Olympos \'mystery dial\' gents vintage watch manufactured in the early 1960’s. The case is 20 microns gold plated with a stainless steel snap back cover. This watch was originally manufactured as water and shock resistant and antimagnetic; however, no guarantee can be given today regarding these for any vintage itemThe watch looks to be in completely original un-restored condition, including the crown. However as crystals scratch easily, the one fitted to the watch may well have been replaced more than once as this watch has clearly been worn on a regular basis.
Case:
20 microns gold plated wedge shaped case with a stainless steel back cover marked on the inside“Zodiac Ltd. LeLocle ”with reference numbers 703-903. Itmeasures approximately 35 mm across at the widest point but excluding the unsigned crown and42mm from lug to lug.The case shows brassing (see photos) but does not detract. The case could be re-plated. There is no presentation engraving on the rear cover.
Dial:mystery dial in excellent original condition, finishedin champagne starburst satin and signed \"Zodiac Olympos Swiss Made\". The hands are in fair condition and the faceted crystal is clean and clear.
Movement: clean and bright Zodiac cal. 72B 17 jewel movement,running strongly but not timed.
Strap:fitted with a used generic leatherstrap.
