click picture to enlarge We are offering one doll from a series of special dolls referred to as the Half-Century group Vogue issued in 1950; check our other sales for others from this group. It took us years to add all the Half-Century dolls to our collection. Now it is time for them to find new homes. We are offering the Miss 2000 from the 1950 Half Century Group of dolls. Ginny is a strung hard plastic painted eye doll produced in 1950; vintage & all factory original & marked on her back Vogue Doll. She is factory dressed & complete and in excellent plus to near mint condition, some probably may rate higher. She does not appear to have been played with &appears well taken care of over the years bythe previous owner. She still retains her original Vogue vintage ribbon banner and not a replacement. She is all original and complete.Ginny Miss 2000 wasmade 1 year &in rather limited quantities. Initially only a few of the painted eye in this series surfaced and were shown in the early reference books (it was thought that Vogue had only offered them in painted eye), but some factory originals have surfaced with sleep eyes within the last several years. You can see reference to the Half Century Group in the newest Ginny reference book \"Colorful World of Ginny\" by Barbara Clark available on for sale. Like some of the dolls Vogue issued they would cross over from year to year to the early issued dolls of the next year and use them too. You are offerding on the painted eye, all original Miss 2000 shown here from the Vogue vintage 1950 Half Century Group in tagged outfit. As has been our practice, we have included a complimentary doll stand for you to display her & enjoy with your family and friends right away upon her arrival. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Miss 2000 is a strung Vogue 8\" Ginny doll from 1950, painted eye, nice visible brows and lashes & softslight pink cheek color (all factory). Marked on her back Vogue doll with the very early caracul type wig which were the very first used by Vogue (not lambs wool);a mesh cap with curls sewn on which were of a synthetic type material. Her hair is thick and full and we don\'t see any ugly noticeable glue residue which tends to be quite common with this type of early Vogue wig. She has been restrung by the previous owner so no fear of breaking and falling apart. Sometimes her head can be a little temperamental when trying to pose her, but her stringing is good (you may want to restring but she is holding fine and won\'t break) and you just have to get her head positioned just right sometimes (as you can see we had no problem posing her for pictures). All fingers are present with no breaks, no cracks from play or abuse. She wears her complete and near mint/mint outfit. Red felt hat with coils and original chin strap (vintage), green knit body suit with red felt vest style over top and attached red felt band at waist. Outfit is tagged. No holes to knit fabric, no pulls no stains; no holes in any felt, no stains. Original red oil cloth slip on smooth soiled shoes; factory issued; great condition. This sweet and rather rare Half-Century Doll is ready to find a new home. We think most would be very pleased with her. Please bear in mind that these items are vintage and not new and may have factory minor flaws (not easily detectible if there is) in the making that do not take away from the appearance or value to most. We mention this just in case you are a collector who wants new, never lovingly handled or enjoyed dolls, than this is not for you. She is over 60 years old and was packed away and well taken care of now looking for a new home.
