This wonderful vintage figure of a little girl on skis is made from spun cotton, with a hand-painted, clay face and cardboard, snow-covered skis. Her face has one mark, below her mouth, visible in the photos. She originally had some mica glitter on her spun cotton snowsuit, but that is almost all gone. She has age spots to her snowsuit. She has little spun cotton feet, that are a bit strange - one is much bigger than the other! The little piece is hand made, and a fabulous piece of folk art! She is charming, and much higher quality than what you normally would see from Japan - on a par with the German and Russian spun cotton figures. She has little stick ski poles with cardboard disks on the ends. The little girl stands 4 3/4\" tall, and is in good vintage condition (slight age related flaws), dating to the 1940\'s. Her skis are cardboard covered in faux snow. There are no breaks, bad smells, or missing pieces. She isn\'t marked as to where she was made (or the marking has worn off), but I have had identical ones like this that were marked \"Japan\". She is a charming Christmas decoration that can stand, or hang on your tree. She would be wonderful with a Christmas Putz village, a dolls house, or just to display.
