Made in Japan, late 40\'s-50\'s, most likely by Holt Howard. The head is ceramic with something inside that rattles. I\'ve seen this head on a cone shaped body with a fabric over dress like a robe. The similarities in the face to other Holt Howard pieces leads me to believe that is the maker. This could also be an angel, add some wings to the new outfit. I know a lot of these types of vintage pieces got broken, so am hoping that someone out there has a body needing a head. Some crazing to the hair area, bit of a flat spot on the back of the head. Some tiny rough spots in the finish and 2 small lumps by the left eye that look like pimples, ha ha. Adorable sweet freckled face.
