Absolutely beautiful Vintage 1978 Copper Clad Stainless & Brass Chafing Dish Fondue Pot Warming Skillet with Sterno. Vintage item is in near mint condition and looks unused. Estate sale item. The handle, sterno holder, and original Copral booklet were inside the cooking pan. Handle was in original wrapping material. The Sterno burner has some lacquer discoloration/flaking. Inside the lid has rub marks from the items being stored inside.
The cooking/warming pan appears to be copper clad stainless. It measures about 9.25 x2.5\" without the handle. The top I think is copper plated aluminum. The whole assembly measures about 16\" x 10\". A substantial piece, it weighs 3.5 pounds. It\'s a beautiful fondue pot/chafing dish! The booklet says it is from 1978.

These pieces are made in Portugal and are copper with a stainless lining. The lid fits properly as designed on the outer edges of the top of the handled chafing/warming dish/skillet but it is not a tight sealed fit. The lid is not for food storage. It\'s purpose is to keep the food warm and free of any debris floating in the air as it entirely covers the edges of the skillet but because this is a buffet piece it is designed to be easily removed by your guests when serving food. It would be cumbersome for a tight fitting lid to be continually have to be pulled off and there are safety concerns with someone pulling too hard and knocking the chafing dish or fuel off the table.
