VINTAGE HAND CARVED WOODEN FIGURE
Figure is unmarked (believe label/signature may have worn off over time) but hails from either Germany or Austria, likely by Jaschke Pretzl.
Unlike others currently found online, by Jaschke Pretzl, the print on this is entirely in German.
Print on the base of figure reads:

,Die Diagnose hatt \' ich wohl, allein mir fehlt die Therapie.\'This roughly translates to:
\"The diagnosis once I had well but lacks the therapy\" or, more accurately to \"I have the diagnosis, but how to cure it\" as is seen on similar figures painted in EnglishThe figure is beautifully hand carved from a light wood and stand 5 1/2\" tall. There is some fading off the paint which is allowing the natural wood grain underneath to seep through. This may appear to be staining but is not.Excellent and unique piece of hard carved that would look fantastic on the desk or bookshelf of any doctor of German decent or collector of wooden figures.All photos are of actual item for sale
