VTG LADIES 1940\'S 50\'S 2-PIECE PLAID PLAY SUIT SWIM SUIT PIN-UP BEACH ROMPER:

This is a vintage 1940\'s or 50\'s 2-piece plaid swim suit or play suit or romper. It is not tagged. It is lined but not quite like a swimsuit would be I think. The top is fitted with darts and the straps have a button on each end for show I would guess and are attached with snaps for removal under the buttons. It closes in the back with 2 buttons. On the inside of the straps there is a strip of material but I don\'t know its purpose as seen in the 8th photo. The measurements of the top are 17\" flat under the arms and 15\" flat at the bottom. The straps are 16\" long. Condition is very good. The bottoms close with a zipper and button and are also tailored with darts. The measurements are a 28\" waist and are 13 1/2\" long in the front and about 14 1/4\" long in the back. The leg openings are 27\". Condition is very good but there are stains at the crotch as shown in the last 2 photos. It has not been cleaned. A great pin-up outfit.
