*(Kachina: a deified ancestral spirit in the mythology of Pueblo Indians)This is such an awesome old Kachina necklace, solid silver, beautifully articulated, with great personality, beautiful detailed silversmithing, and gorgeous sky blue natural mined turquoise stones. Completely handmade with lovely dimension and detail in the intricate onlay/applique work and the turquoise size and setting. Beautiful chunky Hand Fashioned Sterling Silver Bench Beads - round and melon - impart a warm satiny glow. Two fluted beads crown the Kachina for added interest. A beautiful mid-century or earlier piece of excellent quality signed and hallmarked by the artist. Round Navajo pearl beads are 8-1/2 to 9mm (vary slightly as they are handmade), melon beads are 3/4\" long, fluted beads are 11mm diameter. Feathered headdress turquoise measures 16mm (5/8\") long x 13mm at widest, body turquoise is 15mm long x 7mm wide. Eyes are snake eye turquoise stones.Completely handmade of finest quality. Signed and hallmarked by the artist. Tests sterling silver. A few beads have tiny dimples. Overall excellent vintage condition.
