The handle is a molded softer plastic, so that it bends nicely across the basket. The basket is the same on both sides, and hand painted. It was made in British Hong Kong. It measures 7\" across, when opened, and stands 8\" tall including the handle, and 4\" tall without the handle in the measurement. The colors are truest in the first photo; the others were taken with flash so you could see details better.
I have had lots of these baskets, but this is the first time I have had one in it\'s original packaging. It is held together inside the package with string that has been tied around it, so that it won\'t pop open accidentally and tear the packaging. The head on the package is good - clean and bright. The back is plain cardboard, so I didn\'t show the back. The piece has it\'s original price tag, which was 69 cents. The basket dates to the 1960\'s.
