Attention Collectors...ONE OF A KIND!Another Remarkable Find! An Authentic Vintage Signed Native American Sterling SIlver Scrimshaw Pendant...Never Worn with Original Tag!On the back it is clearly stamped SY and Sterling with a very nice Sun Pictograph. I believe the Native American Silversmith to be either Sally Yazzie or Steven Yellowhorse.The colorfully painted scrimshaw scene appears to be of a robed Shaman Fox Woman adorned with a large beaded necklace, carrying her medicine bag. I am not seeing a signature, so it is quite possible that the silversmith SY is also the scrimshander. There are 2 detailed SS feathered leaves hugging the top of the scrimshaw and a large double bail.The pendant measures approximately 1-5/8\" long by 1\" wide and weighs approximately 12 grams. The marked \"Sterling\" Box Chain weighs 6 grams, is 18\" long and 2 cm wide. Total weight being approximately 18 grams!This very unique \"One Of A Kind\" pendant is in wonderful un-worn vintage condition still with it\'s tag attached. It was purchased by a now 98 year gentleman at a Native American Trading Post sometime near 1980 where he met the silversmith artisans who were creating their works on site. He was so impressed with their quality craftsmanship that he purchased over 25 pieces that day!The pendant pictured is the one you will receive.
