Welcome to my listing for a wonderful lot of 7 \"putz houses\" for a Christmas village display or model railroad use. These buildings are known as the \"Pineville\" houses because that town name is on some of the pieces. They\'re made of very sturdy heavyweight cardboard, printedrealistically yet with just a touch of cartoonish whimseywith details of windows, roofs, signage, etc in brick red, brown, gold, black, and accents of light blue and green, with flat bases. The structural detail is amazing -- complex gabled roofs, a drive-through barn, a cottage with an overhanging balcony -- these are not just crude little rectangles! According to my internet research, these houses appeared in the 1944 Montgomery Ward Wishbook (Christmas catalog) and were sold fully assembled in a set of 8 -- but this listing is only for seven pieces. The pieces in this set have also been decorated by a previous owner, very carefully and skillfully, with touches of white paint to represent snow -- and I must say that whoever did this really did understand how snow lands and sticks on roofs and other protuberances of buildings and drifts against their bases. The buildings are in good condition, sturdy and solid, not crushed or bent, with perhaps a bit of scuffy wear at some corner tips. The railroad station has two slight visible surface wrinkles in its cardboard of two flat walls, though the building doesn\'t seem bent or saggy at those areas. The colors, though muted by design, are not faded. The buildings measure about 6 inches by 4 inches at the base, and between 4 to 6 inches tall. The buildings in this set are:
