Beautiful Victorian reproduction brooch in sterling silver with a center crystal. This bar-shaped brooch is from the 1970\'s and was only worn a few times. It totally looks like platinum with a diamond center. The brooch is 1 and 7/8\" long x 5/8\" wide. The pin on the back closes with a c-type clasp. The center stone is bezel set in a square-shaped box of sterling and is set up slighty from the filigreed portion of the brooch. The back of this brooch is just as pretty as the front! One of the things I love about this pin is that it is not very heavy so that you can wear it on a silk blouse as well as on a blazer and it won\'t hang down or pull away from the fabric.

A brooch like this might have been cherished and worn in the \"Downton Abbey\" days of the 1920\'s and 1930\'s yet it is still a lovely brooch, today, to wear on a blazer or at the neck to close a button down shirt. If the collar of your shirt is large enough, use it to pull the two sides of the collar together at the neck for a beautiful look. I would also wear a pin like this on the collar of a wool blazer or on a wool felt hat, for that extra flair.
