This Royal Doulton jug was made in the 1920-30s as an advertising piece for Stirling Bonding Company’s Garlic Old Smuggler Whisky, distilled at the Craigellachie Distillery, Glenlivet, Scotland. The base is stamped with the Royal Doulton printed mark. The glaze is akin to that found on Burslem Athlo Ware. It is in very good, near perfect, antique condition. Just some clean micro crazing & two dots of missing paint near the spout that occurred during manufacture, they are glazed over. Nothing significant and nothing that detracts from this rare collector’s piece. Please refer to the photos, these too form part of the description. Measures: 13cm tall, 15cm from front to rear of handle. Description This Royal Doulton jug is estimated to have been made in the 1920-30s as a promotional advertising piece for Stirling Bonding Company’s Garlic Old Smuggler Whisky, distilled at the Craigellachie Distillery, Glenlivet, Scotland.

It features two panels advertising the Scotch and one with a picture of the distillery snuggled in the famous Scottish glen. The base is stamped with the Royal Doulton printed mark. The glaze is akin to that found on Burslem Athlo Ware.

It is in very good, near perfect, antique condition. Just some clean micro crazing & two dots of missing paint near the spout that occurred during manufacture, they are glazed over. Nothing significant and nothing that detracts from this rare collector’s piece. Please refer to the photos, these too form part of the description.
