From an estate clearance, this is a very attractive looking sterling silver snuff or pill box with an ornate relief cast lid decoration as pictured and a slightly curved gilt interior.

It has been assayed stamped on the underside \"STERLING\".

The box measures 2\" long by 1.25\" wide and it is about 0.5\" thick (measured across the rear edge). It weighs 1.11 imp. ounces / 1 troy ounces / 31.5 grams.

There are a few minor signs of age and use but nothing at all nasty or serious and the box is still fully functional. The box has the typical light faint surface scratches and base wear that all silver objects such as this tend to attract and a single tiny and shallow impact type dent on the front, but there is nothing really nasty or serious to report as far as I can tell. The lid hinge is in good working order and the lid opens and closes properly and it will not fall open accidentally. There are no holes or splits.

A good polish will no doubt further enhance former glory.
