A beautiful antiquarian edition of Ruth Plumly Thompson\'s first Oz book, THE ROYAL BOOK OF OZ (credited on the cover to the series\' originator, L. Frank Baum). Published by Reilly & Lee in 1921, Ms. Thompson would go on to write 20 books for the Oz series (Baum wrote only 14 including \"The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.\"). Thisbook appears to be the first edition. The color plates are in stellar condition and the binding is still strong. It has cloth binding with slight wear due to age (not to any misuse). Other than the slightest amounts of wear and fading on the outer extremitiesof the pages, it is in very good (if not mint) condition. A must-have for any collector of Oz books or rare children\'s literature.
