Up for sale is a very hard to find HIGH ART DECO French 950 silver 4 PIECE TEA & COFFEE SET, madeby Bardies Faure & Cie c.1930.

The set comprises of aTEAPOT, COFFEE POT, COVERED SUGAR BOWL & CREAM JUG. All pieces are of OCTAGONAL GEOMETRIC FORM and very much PURE ART DECO. The silver deco finials have wooden insets. The deco shaped handles and insets are probably rosewood. The teapot and coffee pot lids/covers close with a tight bayonet fitting.

A SIMILAR SET(but weighing 74 troy ounces) BY PUIFORCAT SOLD IN SOTHEBYS NEW YORK (17th October 2008 - Lot 38) FOR US $ 15,000.

Each piece is marked on bodies and covers (twice) with the FRENCH MINERVA 1st standard mark (950 pure silver) and maker\'s mark for Bardies - Faure & Cie, Paris c.1930.

The dimensions are : COFFEEE POT :5.25 inches high x 8 inches handle to spout. TEAPOT : over 4.75 inches x 9.5 inches handle to spout. COVERED SUGAR BOWL : over 3.5 inches x 5.75 inches handle to handle. CREAMER : 3 inches x nearly 6 inches handle to spout. This excellent quality set weighs a solid 86 troy ounces (2,674 GRAMS).

CONDITION: Excellent - NO repairs, NO damage. The creamer handle is a paler colour wood.
