Very Large Early 18thC Antique Wood Carving of a Cherub Putto C.1700 Carved Oak:

A genuine early 18th Century Baroque Period carved Cherub or Putto standing 28 1/2\" tall. Supported on anassociated metal stand (detachable).

Carved fromlimewood with applied gesso andsubstantial amounts oforiginal paint remain.

Condition - left arm re-attached (evidence of join and later paint to surface around repair). Lacking tip of right foot. Traces of historic woodworm (treated by us and long since gone). Sold in \"as found\" condition.

Dimensions: Height 28 1/2\".
