Very Large Sterling Dead Pawn Navajo Kachina Bolo.The Bolo measures 5 inches in height and from wing to wing 5 inches in width.
There are 10 Turquoise stones, and in the life of this piece, and it's travels, some may have been replaced. Many match and I bought it this way 30 years ago. I knew stones could be easily matched or replaced, and I bought it for it's workmanship and wore it this way.
The eyes are Coral and one is a little deeper then the other with some wear.
This is a solid heavy piece of Sterling Silver weighing 111 grams according to my little scale. It could be off a hair, but it's close to accurate.
I'm not selling it for weight, as its value is in the antiquity, tribal affiliation, and craftsmanship.
The piece is footed, and is beautifully detailed throughout
There is no signature on the piece or marks. This is not unusual, as many older pieces were not signed or stamped and many marks fade over time
The Bolo has been positively tested for Sterling. The test mark is on the back side right lower corner, and can be seen in the photos.
The Bolo clasp is Bennett Pat Pend.The Tips are Sterling and the Leather Braided Bolo cord was probably replaced at some time before I purchased the Bolo and remains in good condition .
