Here we have a beautiful Union General Staff button dug while relic hunting on the retreat route near Burkeville west of Amelia Virginia. This coat size button has at least 75% or better of the original gold gilt. It has a good strong hook however it is bent to the side. The back mark is EXTRA QUALITY with two 5 pointed stars. Both Union and Confederate troops lost or dropped many nice relics in this area as we also found several Confederate lined \"I\"s.
