Very Old Brass Apache Indian Trade Pipe with Red Hawk Tail Feathers Tomahawk:
$20000.00

This is a19th centurybrass \"gun barrel\" typeheaded axe pipe purchased decades ago in Newbury Vermont. It originally also came with an Apache childs quiver, so I believe this to be from the same tribe.
It came with avery old suitcase which has an old 1900\'squilt which has sewn into it some old silkTobacco indian cloth images. The buyer will get the suitcase and also the old quilt, just as it has been stored in for a very, very long time. Unfortunately I sold the Apache quiver several years ago, and it is NOT included.Boththe quiver I sold and this pipehave red typetrade cloth dye.
The hardwood, knurledhaft is 17 1/2\", andwith both plugs inserted is 21\". The brass head measures 6 1/2\" long and widest part of the blade is 2 1/8\" wide.
On the very top of the handle by the bowl there is an inlayed silver colored metalpiece with the engraved initials \" A B H\" or \"ABW\" but hard to determine the last letter as the rosette type nail goes in between the last letter.
There are remnants of4 redhawk feathers, one being mostly complete, and 1 uncolored greyhawk feather wrapped with an animal piece of leather to hang from some handmade small twine.A feather from a hawk symbolizes guardianship, strength
and far-sightedness.
My phone camera does not take detailed images, so I will add better ones later on. Please email me if you want specific ones.
I would appreciate information about this pipe from anyonewho can add information to this listing.
