ei Up for sale is an old mysterious looking inkwelland ink blotter.The inkwell is very unique in design, shape and appearance. It is made of brass or bronze ( a magnet will not stick to it ) and is heavy for its size. It has a neat pen holder in the back that looks to be vines coming out from underneath. The inkwell has a nice flip top lid that is fully intact and tight. The ink blotter is part of this set and is also very unique in design. It does need a new cardboard blotter pad which is easy to replace. The inkwell measures aproximately 6\" wide, 5\" deep and stands 41/2\" tall. The blotter measures aroximately 5 1/4\" x 2 7/8\" and stands 3\" tall.

This set came from a local estate and the grandchildren of the previous owner told me that they remember seeing iton their grandfathers desk when they were just children. They are grandfathers now themselves, anyway they believe he picked it up somewhere overseaswhen he wasin Germany during or after the war. Other than that there is no makers mark on either piece and I know nothing else about it. I am selling it as found - uncleaned and unpolished, it has been used and does show signs of use.
