Very RARE Red Deer Skin Hebrew Bible Torah EXODUS Vellum Handwritten Manuscript:
$100.00

First of all, I must mention that theholy name of \"Yahweh\" or \"Jehovah,\" which in Hebrew has thefour letters \"YHWH\" or \"Yahweh,\" and is also known as thesacred TETRAGRAMMATON, because it was the holy name of God and was not to bepronounced. The name \"Yahweh\" occurs one time in thissection, at Genesis 27:21 (see the 1st scanned image, 2nd line from the bottom, 2nd word from the left). Ofall the parts of the Hebrew Bible the most sacred is the Torah, or the FiveBooks of Moses.

This handwritten manuscript, consisting of a column section of a Hebrew scroll comesfrom Exodus, but I must apologize that IT IS TOO LARGE FOR MY SCANNER, so theentire section cannot be shown in a single scan (see the scanned images, where I have scannedone half in three scans and the other half in three scans, so that the entire text can be seen). Thisis my very last column or section of the Red Deer Skin parchment, which was purchased years ago from an antiquities dealer namedDaniel, who lived in Israel. The black handwritten text of the Hebrew words is spectacular andbeautiful. This fragment of a genuine Hebrew scroll is written on a RedDeer skin parchment or vellum from Egypt, which is very thick and was rolled up in ascroll for hundreds of years and so still has a “curl” in it. This Torah scrollwaswritten in the original Hebrew language and contains the text of “Shemot,”meaning “the names” (based on the secondword of the Hebrew text), otherwise known in English as “The Book of Exodus,”which is the second book of the five books of Moses, or the Torah. Thislast section of a scroll corresponds to the Book of Exodus 26:34-37 and 27:1-21.

This is a very important section of Exodus, with the followingimportant words and phrases: \"the Children of Israel,\"

(Exodus 27:20 and 27:21, with one of the occurrences of this phrase seen in the 1st scanned image, bottom line, 1st two words on the left); \"Mercy Seat,\" which is also known as \"the Ark of the Covenant\" (Exodus 26:34); \"the Holy of Holies\" (Exodus 26:34, with \"the Holy\" seen in the 4th scanned image, top line, 1st word on the left, and with \"of Holies\" seen in the 4th scanned image, 2nd line, 1st word on the right); \"Zahar,\" meaning \"gold\" (Exodus 26:37); \"the Altar\" (Exodus 27:1); \"Aaron and his sons\" (Exodus 27:21); and \"Court\" (Exodus 27:9). Really amazing!

The winner will receive the original vellum section, as well as a xerox copy with these identified words marked by someone who has a Ph.D. in Biblical Studies (see the last scanned image). This handwrittenTorahfragment has been verywell preserved. Thelettersof these fragments are so beautiful, so notice in the 1st and 3rd scanned images that many letters have three ornate stroke at the top of some letters. The parchment and writing is in very good condition, with no holes orpatches. The parchmentholds its ink well and the letters haveremained black, despiteuse over the years. This is your rare opportunityto own a nearly flawless Torah fragmentas a family heirloom. Thelarge size of this section measures about 5 1/2 in x 22 in. Imagineactually owning agenuine, original, beautiful, Torah Bible fragment fromthe Book of Exodus.

Thereis one final comment that I would like to make. At Luke 4:17 we have aninteresting case in which the King James Version contains a mistranslation ofthe meaning. Consider the context of Jesus himself reading from the bookof Isaiah in the synagogue. Copies of Old Testament books that were readin the synagogue were written in Hebrew in scroll form. The Greek word atLuke 4:17 is “anaptussein,” which means literally to “unroll.”Accordingly, the King James Version wording “And when he had OPENED the book,he found the place where it was written” should be “And when he had UNROLLEDthe book, he found the place where it was written.” I mention thisbecause this Hebrew scroll section that is currently for sale is the only thingthat I sell that automatically rolls itself up (as seen in Luke 4:17) ratherthan being flat!
