Up for offer here is what appears to be a very rare 1895 Antique Book titled \"By Land and Sea.\" It says that it is a book from \"The Companion Series.\" This hardcover book was published by Perry Mason & Company in Boston. I\'m calling this a very rare book because I cannot find another copy of it for sale anywhere. The copyright page says 1894 and the publishing date says 1895 so this is an early printing of a first edition book. It appears that the first owner, that wrote their name inside at least, got it in May of 1899. Another owner put the date of August 19th, 1919 on the page. Someone else got it in 1965. It also has North Paris Grammar School written on the page inside the front cover. So, if you want a book with a lot of history, this one should suffice!
This is a book about places all around the world. I believe that it is a high school level textbook. As for condition, there\'s the writing inside that I mentioned. The contents page is starting to get loose. Overall, it\'s a pretty solid book for being as old as it is. The pages have darkened some due to age as you\'d expect. I don\'t see any writing, underlining, marks, creased pages, tears, etc. in the main body of the book. There are a lot of illustrations depicting life in various places in different parts of the world in the 1890s.
As for size, this book measures 5-3/4 inches by 8-1/8 inches and there are 256 pages in it. Since I, at least, can\'t find another one for sale I really have no idea what it is worth. So, I\'ll use the sale style. Happy offerding!
