Artist\'s Name Impressed on Back of Tile

My research suggests that this tile was created by George Cartlidge () and produced by Sherwin & Cotton in Staffordshire, England, in the year 1909 -- the occasion of Abraham Lincoln\'s 100th birthday. A few examples have sold in years past, but Cartlidge\'s Abraham Lincoln tile remains a very rare item.

Condition Details:

Here you have my best good-faith attempt to disclose all noteworthy issues. Keep in mind, though, that vintage/antique items always show their age -- (Don\'t we all!?) --so please expect that there will be something about this item (or lot) that\'s not perfect. Even if it\'s \"mint\" or \"new-old-stock,\" it will still be somehow touched by Father Time.

As with all my listings (unless explicitly stated otherwise), they come from a NON-smoking Environment.

- This is an ORIGINAL 1909 tile in its original wooden frame.
- The tile is perfect, except it does show some crazing, which is typical for its age. (SEE PHOTOS.)
- The frame has a few light scuffs, as shown in the picture. It\'s black, so it should be no problem touching up those areas.
