Please Note: I have just acquired a large collection of antique clocks mostly rare unusual ones. Please take a look at my listings over the next few months some really nice ones coming. They have always been cared for and are original antique clocks

This clock is a top quality antique 18thc English twin weight driven verge lantern clock with oak wall bracket and a very rare clock indeed

The clock sits nice on the wall bracket which i do not think is original but does the job perfect

The lantern clock is driven by 2 weights one for the time and the other for the strike. the clock strikes the large bell to top the number of hours on the hour

The clock also has an alarm mechanism however i cannot get this working at the moment but my knowledge on these is very limited everything seems to be there but alarm not engaging for some reason but im sure you experts will be able to sort that easy

The clock benefits from its original dial with some french wording to centre along with the single hand and alarm setting dial just behind the hand. The front also benefits from an engraved pierced spandrel to front and superb original feet

The clock has 2 hinged brass doors one either side of the clock which open to reveal easy access to the movement

The movement benefits from its original verge escapement with fixed pendulum to back which swings back and forth and is a pleasure to watch. The movement seems to be driven by 2 seperate weights rather than just one weight. The clock is ticking away and working fine apart from the alarm

This is a very rare English lantern clock with verge escapement and one for the serious collection

The clock has superb proportions measuring 14 inches high (without bracket) x 7 inches wide (without bracket) x 6 inches deep (without bracket)

The bracket measures 8.25 inches high x 9 inches wide x 9 inches deep
