Very Rare Bronze Art Deco Girl / Lady on Swing Vanity Swivel Mirror - Stunning! DescriptionThis is a stunningly beautiful art decobronze vanity mirror featuring a swinging sculpture of a girl/lady on a swing. The detail on the frame and in particular, the girl\'s flowing dress shows the artistry from that era. It has age-related patina and surface wear, and it has not been cleaned with any chemicals of any kind. This is a light coloredbronze, and at first glance appears almost like brass but has absolutely no reaction to very strong magnet. The back of the mirror is protected with a piece of felt. The measurements are 16\' tall, 13\' wide. The outside diameter of the mirror is 7-1/4\" x 6-1/2\". The woman in the swing is 6-1/2\" x 4-1/2\" and the chains are 7\" long on either side.I have tried to do as much research as I can about this mirror, but it is so rare. I have examined every inch of this piece under magnification for any marks except for the back of the mirror as I did not want to disturb the protective felt backing. Update:This mirror as it turns out is actually from the Art Nouveau era which is even earlier than Art Deco. I received a message from someone very knowledgeable about the two styles and graciously shared this information regarding the mirror:\"The only reason I\'m messaging you is to express an opinion that I really believe you have an Art Nouveau piece. The curves and styling of the frame are much like those in the Paris Metro, a renowned Art Nouveau showcase example. I am an antique purse collector and researcher (hobbyist only, retired). I had to plow through a lot of the standard Art Nouveau and Art Deco reference works to figure out what periods some of our purses come from. And then I had to dig further to be able to identify the various types of German Secessionist art, one of which is Jugendstil, or their equivalent of Art Nouveau. From everything that I\'ve read and seen, yours is a turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau piece, i.e., 1896-1906.
