Up for sale ,probably one of the nicest early choppers I have seen. This is a very rare Robt Sorby circa 1850 Hand Forged Chopper with outstanding Acorn ends on the oversized handle. The maple wood handle measures 10 1/2 inches across and the cutting blade is 7 inch in length. The Blade has the makers mark with his early cross symbol. The hand forged steel is still in excellent condition without dings or nicks of any kind. A very rare and beautiful chopper from a very early and distinguished tool maker.
