Up for sale is this very rare modern Judaica tzedakah box hand madefrom solid sterling silver, this amazing piece Of modern judaica was made by the famous and important artist carmel shabi :

Carmel Shabi was born in Iraq in 1939 and immigrated to Israel in 1951. In 1974 he traveled to England to study with the master silversmiths, Wakely& WheelerLondon (est. 1791). In England, Carmel completed original work forGarrard,Aspery,Bvlgari,Tiffany, the Sheikh of Muskat and the Sultan of Malaysia. During the same period he also created the Ascot Cup for the Queen of England.Since 1976 he concentrated solely on creating Jewish Ceremonial art.Being an internationally recognized Judaica Artist, in 1990 Carmel won the prestigious Bar Ilan University Prize of Judaica.

Carmel was a member of the Swiss Guild of Silversmiths.He had exhibitions in Jerusalem, Illinois, New York, North Carolina, Virginia, Washington D.C. and Switzerland.The religious articles Carmel created were purchased by “me’hadrei mitzva” and Judaica collectors and are exhibited in Israel and Jewish museums worldwide.Carmel passed away on the Eve of Rosh Hashana 5770 (September 2009).

The condition and quality of this tzedakah box is one of a kind and i have never seen such quality of silverware, Thetaedakah box is designed in a very modern way of a round box that opens with an amazing door at the bottom And on the two sides of it there is the word \"tzedakah\" in hebrew : ״צדקה״ cut out from the massive silver surface While the latter D or ״ד״on the top of the box forms the special hole when the money should be placed into the box.

This piece is a \"one of a kind\" piece and a must have in anyImportant judaica collection.

The box is fully marked with carmel shabi initials, 925 mark, israel mark, a menorah mark and a date written in hebrew.
