Very Rare ,Pre Civil War Pannotype Photo The Rare Photographic likeness of AVictorian Lady was made sometime up to the Civil War Period. ( Most Pannotypes were made between 1853 and 1860 but some experts have recorded slightly later examples) Pannotype was an early effort to create a soft flexible picture as opposed to a tyntype there are very few left in existance. It is done on leather . Approx 2\" oval. There is slight loss of the outer emulsion but the portrait is in very good condition. Pannotypes are very valuable as can be seen if you do a little research,.
