Very Rare Vintage Gold B-58 Hustler tie pin/lapel pin hard to find one of these :
$223.00

Offered is a very, very rare Vintage B-58 Hustler pin cast in gold from the 60\'s. This is the same pin / clasp that were given by General Dynamics/Convair to the Crews that flew the Hustler except that the Crew\'s pins were cast in silver rather than gold. I have only seen a couple of these (gold pins) and they were worn by the Wing Commanders and Project Engineers at GD. These were manufactured in Forth Worth by Rios Jewelers. In the pictures I have included a picture of my silver one for comparison only (last Picture). Do not confuse this pin/clasp with the little mass produced ones (which are fairly nice) that were sold at the base BX and still being sold today. This pin is a part of Aviation history. I have never seen one of these gold ones as well as the silver ones for sale as flight crew members cherish them and they are kept in their families. It measures approximately 1\" X 1/2\" and is solid gold. It will be shipped insured priority mail. Offered at !! You will probably never see another one like this for sale!
The small b-58 tie pins normally seen on are the ones sold at the base BX Exchange. They were some kind of mass produced plated (gold tone)stampings made for the support people at the bases. They sold for a few dollars. However General Dynamics Convair in Fort Worth had made several types of pins exclusively for the B-58 Crews (probably around 500 total made I would guess). Upon checking out on the plane the crews were awarded a beautiful silver pin just like the solid gold one I am selling. I have only seen a couple of the solid gold ones which were worn by Convair executives and a Wing Commander. The B-58 Crew award pins are very very rare and unique as you had to fly the plane to get one and as you know there were very few crew members (6 squadrons). These pins Awards usually are cherished by the families of the crew members as is the factory model display plane awarded to each crew member. There were other very rare Award pins made for the crews. The M-2 (mach 2 Pin) you had to fly M-2 to get one with also a certificate, a Mach Crow pin in which you had to be a DSO flying the plane to receive, Additionally a gold 500 hour B-58 pin which showed that you had 500 hours of flight time in the aircraft (which I barely got). It is a unique plane with a unique history, 19 world speed records which even today still holds some of them. Occasionally I see one of the factory aircraft models for sale on if in good condition they usually sell for around $350. I have never seen any crew Award pins for sale on . Shipping includes insurance! Regards, Bill
