Old Brass telescope marked in a delicate script: A. Rofs, London. No other markings.
A. Rofs London, offers no info....cannot locate a matching item.It appears to be similar to around 17th century opticals of like kind.Main (longest element) is 13.25inches compressed. Its at 19 inches extended (minus extension piece) barrel is 1 and 3/8 in. OD. (Outer Diameter)The smaller Extension part, is at 4in 1/16 long. and is 1.5 in. OD. (holds a good lens) doesnt seem to fasten onto main body....although it does match up in size.(regards to outer dimension of barrel)One element extension, for the main body. It obviously has been encased in leather, which is missing. The last foto shows the end of the main body, It is without a flange, or method of affixing anything to it I can find no matches after extensive searching.Perhaps this might be used as parts, or a decorative piece.All brass, has not been cleaned, or in any way modified at all.
