A stunning Victorian Gold Mourning Pendant dating to c1850, which is set with Turquoise Cabochons in a Cross Motif and has a glazed locket back that is complete with it\'s original bevelled glass and hair memento(please see the detailed close-upphotographs provided, which form an integral part of the item\'s description).
This fabulous hand crafted 19th Century Mourning Pendant weighs approx\' 8.0 grams and it measures approx\' 3.9cms long (excluding the hanging ring) by approx\' 2.8cms wide. It has a wonderful architectural quality having been fashioned as a three dimensional jewel and then set with five Turquoise cabochons in a daisy cluster that form the centre of a Cross Motif made up of a further twelve cabochon-cut Turquoise gemstones - all supported on a raised scroll structure to create a Pendant that is just sublime.
Typical of the period this fine quality Locket is unmarked, but it is guaranteed to be made from solid Gold i.e it is not gold plated and tests at around 15ct Gold. Overall it is in great original condition with only wear commensurate with age, as shown in the high quality detailed close up photographs provided.
