Victorian Civil War Era Antique Black Chantilly Lace Large Spanish Mantilla Shawl

This antique Victorian Civil War era black Chantilly lace large Spanish mantilla shawl dates from the 1860s. It is made of a sheer fine black net French Chantilly lace, with a lavish, lush floral foliage leaf pattern outlined in black threads, with detailed shading effects and a beautiful decorative scalloped border edging. This lovely lace has been created into a large triangle shaped shawl style pelerine Spanish mantilla. The shawl measures 110 inches wide across the top and 50 inches long in the center. It is in good as-is condition, with only a few small frayed holes near the center (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana lace art!
