This Victorian Eastlake style easel frame can be used for smaller pictures or photos. It was made in the late 19th century of wood, then gesso was applied and the surface was ebonized and hand incised with decorative motifs. The space between the crossbars measures 6\" high. The parallel bottom crossbar is 6 1/4\" wide. The space between the two metal picture holders and the easel is only about 1/8\" wide, so the picture displayed would have to have a very narrow frame, or none at all. The dimensions of the total easel are 12\" high, 6 1/4\" wide, and 10\" deep from the front to the supporting bar in the back.
