Description:

Stunning in it\'s day, this 2pc Victorian ball gown was made in Paris in the late 1890s
It has a pouter pigeon bodice
Mostlyhand stitched with only the skirt seams machine stitched
The outer layer is black tulle with dots, decorated with velvet ribbons, lace and beaded and sequin medallions
Pale aqua silk is across the bottom of the bodice and covered with black velvet ribbons and bows in the center
The bottom of the sleeves are the thinnest and most delicate pleatedorganza
Lined inivory silk with stays and heavy duty metal hooks and eyes down the center back
The skirt also has the tulle with decorations as the bodice
Underneath is a layer of the organza that is shirred around the bottom
The final layer is the ivory silk with the most amazing hem...It\'s corded and has rosettes all around the bottom
It is longer in the back and has a piece of the ivory silk sewn on one side seam, maybeto hold a bustle?

Condition:

Thesilk fabricshave shattered all over and need to be replaced to make wearable
More obvious is the ivory silk and every time I touch it, it shatters more and leaves tiny pieces on the floor
The organza isshattered in places, but not bad enough to have to replace
The tulle andvelvet are in very goodcondition
A talented seamstress can restore it to wear, or use this for fabric or pattern study

These measurements are taken flat with a flexible measuring tape...You have to be smaller than the measurements to allow room for ease:
