Victorian Charm!This fashion hat would be appropriate in the late 1800\'s. When I found the antique millinery bird with so much personality, I knew I had to make a hat for her to perch upon. I collected vintage ribbon, NOS millinery leaves, and up-cycled vintage fabric. The veil is also vintage, a dark brown color. The veil can be tucked up on top of the brim if you don\'t want the mystery of a veil. Beautiful with Victorian up-do hair styles. This charming hat is built upon a nice straw hat, all hand stitched rather than glued. The bird is secured by a single loop, so it can be moved around for more or less tail to hang over the brim. The bird is on a brown velvet \"nest\",for a naturalized setting. Ideally, it would look like a real bird has landed upon my brim. In my research, I find birds of this quality selling for around $75. This hat is a big hit with detail-oriented groups such as Victorian Festival and Steampunk events. One of a kind! Great theater wardrobe accessory.
