Description:
This Victorian, solid silver fish knife is in the‘Fiddle’ pattern, having double reed decoration to the edge of the shapedblade. There is no monogram but there is a crest of a lion rampant to the topof the handle.
Condition:
Except for a very slight dip to the end of the bladeand the usual fine surface marks, all commensurate with age and use, it is invery good condition for 152 years old.
Measurements:
It measures approx. 19 cm long, 2.7 cm across thewidest part of the blade and weighs 46.7 grams.
Hallmarks:
The assay office is London, with the date letter for1864, the head of Queen Victoria as duty stamp and the maker’s mark for Henry Holland (of Holland, Aldwinckle & Slater).
